Summer has come upon us as we fast approach our third week into the season. While some areas of the world are slowly transitioning to dry sunny weather, the western part of the US is experiencing heat waves going all the way up to 113 F. Hope you brought your sunblock!
With the website now supporting an assortment of new themes, its time to celebrate the transition of the new season with a exciting summer banner contest to spruce up the place. On our last run, 5 members including myself submitted 8 different banners showcasing the spirit and vibe of our community. I am equally excited to see what everyone has to showcase this time. Here are the guidelines:
1. The contents should be 100% sprites. No hand drawn or digital art. Just pure pixel art. You may choose backgrounds/characters from anywhere you'd like.
2. Banner height and width should be 1200x250 in size.
3. The file size should be no larger than 500 kB.
4. Animated backgrounds are welcome, but you can also make it a static image if you'd like.
5. Transparency is permitted, but just be aware that it will be over the starry background of the main page.
6. You are permitted to submit as many backgrounds as you'd like. Go ham!
Your final submission will be posted in this thread, attached as an image and must be submitted by Saturday, July 17th at 11:59PM. EST
After the deadline has been met, a vote will be taken to see whose banner was your favorite. In order to qualify for the front page, you must receive at least 2 votes on your submission. Members are permitted to vote for more than one person, which gives you a good chance of being featured.
